Update on Atlas/Prototype compatibility

Earlier this year I posted about how Atlas and Prototype were incompatible, linking to a forum thread in which Bertrand LeRoy claimed that it wasn't possible.

This week, Scott Guthrie announced during an interview with Scott Hanselman, that the V1 release of Atlas will, in fact, be compatible with Prototype, Scriptaculous, and Dojo. Basically, they resolved all of the naming collisions with common AJAX frameworks.

It's a long road from "We're not even allowed to look at the source code of another product" to "We'll work to make these compatible", and I think what we're seeing here is the influence of Scott Guthrie on some long-standing cultural traditions  at Microsoft. (That's just my take; I could be wildly inaccurate.)

In either case, well done Scott! I know a lot of people will be happy to hear this.
